Students Admission

Planning students' admission

  1. The school determines the vacancies or the seats available in the school, considering the followings:
  2. The number of classrooms and their size,
  3. Number of existing teachers
  4. Number of slots in the hostel
  5. Number of students graduating at the end of the year
  6. Number of students likely to fail and repeat
  7. Reserve slots for transfer cases of civil servants and armed forces RBG/RBP/RBA
Admission Committee is formed in the school for new admission or for transfer case. The committee comprises of the following members:
  1. Principal
  2. Vice Principal
  3. Admission secretary
  4. Teacher members

Responsibilities of the admission Committee

  1. To frame the admission policy as per policy directives
  2. To plan the admission
  3. To design the admission form
  4. To distribute the forms, and
  5. To conduct the admission.

Design and distribute admission forms

The form should demand information to authenticate the genuineness of the claims being made on behalf of students. It should ask for student's details including contact details needed to communicate with parents.
The form should also bear serial numbers, policy directives, list of document(s) to be attached, fee structure, admission procedures and deadline for returning completed forms.
Brief parents on the policy, date of returning the form, and admission date. Collect completed forms and review them before the date of admission. Check the details on the form and the document(s) attached. Sort the forms and shortlist eligible candidates.
Admission in VII and IX on placement

New admission on placement from cluster schools happens in class VII, and IX.

 Documents required

  1. Citizenship card of parents,
  2. Letter certifying parents place of work and residence
  3. Citizenship card of students (If more than 18 years.)
  4. Placement order
  5. Mark sheet, and school leaving certificate
  6. Progress report and character certificate
Admission on transfer case

This refers to enrolment of children whose parents have been transferred to the place. Treat transfer cases as special cases and admit them. However, the transfer of students seeking better facilities or medical ground, or repeating class or for other reasons may be considered subject to availability of seats.

Documents required
  1. Transfer order of parent(s) or letter of recommendations
  2. School Leaving certificate
  3. Academic record of student's performance
  4. Citizenship card of students (If more than 18 years.)
  5. Receipt of fees paid to previous school
Record details of students and parents in the admission register with counter signature of the parents or guardian.
Admission in boarding school as boarder:

A student is eligible for admission to a hostel if parents or guardians live outside a radius of 7km from the school
Repeaters are entitled to re-admission in the same hostel once.
Give priority to students from remote places and from poor families
Stick to maximum number of students prescribed by the authorities.

Once the admission is completed, hand over list of students admitted, forms and documents, admission register, fee collection register and the fees collected to the school management.

Students without the personal belongings/ requirements as stated above will be given a provisional admission for a maximum of seven days from the date of admission. A student on provisional admission will have to submit all the belongings to admission committee within seven days to confirm his/her final admission. Otherwise the provisional admission letter will be invalid and the concerned students will have to leave the school immediately.
