Zhemgang Annual Tshechu

The school will remain closed with effect from 20th to 23rd March, 2013 to witness the Zhemgang annual Tshechu. Thousands of people are expected to gather to get blessing during the Tshechu (Religious festival). It is held once in every dzongkhag on the tenth day of  lunar calendar. The month depends on the place, and usually falls around the month of October. But it is different for Paro, Zhemgang, Punakha and Wangdu.It gets started earlier in the month of March before monsoon.
Tsechus are auspicious ocassions of Drukpa Buddhism. Tsechus are large social gatherings, bringing the relatives together and interaction among people. it is also the time where people share their home-made specials. The peolpe aslo come out with their best costumes.
