Yebilaptsa MSS observes the READING WEEK( 8TH – 13TH SEPT)

The Reading Week  started on 8th Sept coinciding  with the International Literacy Day. The theme identified for the Reading week,2014 was: Read ,Dream,Discover. The objectives of the programme was to highlight on the importance of reading and to promote  reading culture in the school .

On the opening day, the UNESCO coordinator, Mrs.Dechen Peldon spoke on the importance of literacy, mainly highlighting on the  international literacy theme . The literary coordinator later briefed on the activities designed for the week. Posters and banners on the themes identified were displayed in the school.

During the week, childern were given free access to library to read,exchange and share books. The library timing was extended till 5:00 PM.

Many students were involved as model readers who spoke in the morning assembly.The reading materials included  essays,prose,poetry,anecdotes and inspirational stories.

On Thursday , a BOOK REVIEW contest was held.  All the students were engaged in writing a review on a book they had read during the week.

On the closing day, the  Dzongkha-English translation, organized by Dzongkha Department,was conducted. The winners of the book review and Dzo-Eng was declared and awarded with prizes.
