UNESCO Club in action

posted Jun 3, 2013, 12:50 AM by Namgay Dem

The UNESCO club in the school contributes 24 mango plants to the school to promote sustainability. The activity is carried out as a part of EIU practices.

The club has adopted an area m easuring around 10 decimal near the new girl's hostel. With the help of the agriculture members the club had long started the work since the starting of May month. A large busy area was cleared for the purpose of converting it into a beautiful park to foster the physic al ambiance of the school.surrounding the area, hedges are being planted surrounding the area that marks the boundary. Students were thoroughly engaged since June first preparing for the plantation on the second of June. The special moment of the day was when the students put up a message near the plant they planted.  they didn't just plant, but mad a special wish, a prayer as well. The bond has already started- the bond of interdependence.
The moment was filled with sense of happiness and I as the coordinator personally  felt joy run through my nerves.WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The tale ends not here, we have miles to go before we sleep, so many things to do until the day we can have a complete view of the park blooming into life.
