On Saturday morning, 3rd Oct. 2015, Dasho Leki Dorji, the Member of Parliament from the Bardo-Trong constituency paid a visit to our school. The family of YMSS formally received the Dasho who wished to converse with the students for some time. Including the teaching faculty and the supporting staff attended the session which lasted for about two hours, starting from 9 am till 11 am.

The session began with the welcoming speech by the Principal who extended heartfelt gratitude for having provided such a rare opportunity and also shared about the school information and what it strives and aspires for.

The visit of Dasho has an immense benefit to all. The words of wisdoms Dasho has shared were truly informative, insightful and encouraging. Besides many heartening messages, he also deliberated on the importance of the year, 2015: commemorating 60th Birth Anniversary of the Fourth Druk Gyelpo and highlighting on the importance of reading; the National Reading Year, 2015.

Dasho also shared some of the greatest achievements of our beloved Fourth Druk Gyelpo, besides the functioning of bureaucracy, plans the present ruling government has, and even the idea of opening of central school.

More than the worth attending the session, Dasho’s personal life struggles was a flaming core that ignited and clutched everyone’s heart. Starting a life as a poor boy from Shingkhar gradually paved its pathway for a light of life in the darkness of poverty, struggles and innumerable constrains, finally landed in United States and in United Kingdom as well. It was truly an encouragement and even dasho addressed, “We have control over where ever we want to live”.

The session was not only lively, enjoyable, and entertaining; in the midst everybody also enjoyed candy, as a token from the Dasho.
