On the afternoon of 3rd Nov. 2014, two sections of class VIII (61 students) visited the Desho Paper Factory located at Tingtibi. We started the journey on foot at 1:00 pm and arrived at the destination approximately at 2:15 pm.

The sole purpose of the visit was to explore the manufacturing process of Desho paper. Apart from curriculum it is very imperative for the students to learn through hands on experience. The visit is an initiative of class VIII science teachers. The trip was planned in order to provide opportunities for students in learning their topic through study tour.

The students collected all the necessary information regarding the processes involved in manufacturing Desho paper at Tama Desho Paper Factory, Tingtibi. A thorough explanation on boiling process of Daphne Shing (tree) barks till the drying of paper had enlightened students’ ignorance on the manufacturing processes. Many students were also interested in buying different kind of products produced in the Desho Factory.

We would like to acknowledge the school administration for allowing us to carry out the study trip and the manager of the factory who readily accepted our proposal. The program concluded by returning back to Yebilaptsa at 4:30 pm.
